Campus Zeros (Week 1)

The more popular or the two Campus rankings because everyone wants to see who makes this dumpster fire of a list. Being a super critical person always makes it hard to find JUST 5 of the worst but here are week one's Campus Zeros...

5. Mike Leach- Washington State, HC. Well, in his head coaching debut Leach felt what it feels to be locked up in a dark shed after being shelled at home by BYU 30-6. I am sure Cougar fans were hoping Leach would elevate the passing attack of Washington State back to the days of BJ Symons and Graham Harrell at Texas Tech... maybe they will have to wait awhile for that to happen with this program.

4. Georgia Tech's Pass Defense. Cover Zero (no safety over the top) and straight man works in bursts when the timing is right. The Yellow Jacket coaching staff could not find that right timing... especially in the last moments of the game in regulation play when you KNOW the other team is going to pass the ball, putting the game into OT were VT hit a FG winning it 20-17. That is one Rambling Wreck of a secondary!

3. Michigan players/coaches/fans.Big Blue was black and blue after Bama got done with them. They let up 431 total yards of offense (232 rush, 199 pass) while Mr. Lace-less (Mich QB Denard Robinson) played a sub par game forgetting his 'invisible juice' against this vaunted Alabama D. Maybe their top ten ranking and the hype of this game was just a bit much perhaps?

2. Paul Chryst, Pittsburgh HC. Oops, this may put Leach's loss in perspective as the "Big" East Panthers lose 31-17 to... Youngstown State. What?! Yes, that was not a typo. This goes into the VT losing to ECU and Michigan faling to App State category. What did Chryst have to say after the loss? "May hats off to Youngstown State..." Powerful stuff coach.

1. The new helmet falls off rule/the personal foul calls against GT and SYR [AKA me hating on officials as usual.] I can't even blame it on the fact that they are replacement refs! One, this new 'helmet comes off you have to take a play off' rule is going to ruin some big games down the line. Helmets come off just like humans breathe air just like fish need water, it is a part of life. I can't wait for Greg McElroy's helmet to come off in the National Title game on the last drive of the game and he has to come out for a play, lets see how Nick Saban handles that one... And I am SICK AND TIRED of officials making HUGE calls that alter the entire outcome of a game. ONE is the b***s**** personal foul call that put NW in scoring position to score the winning TD over Syracuse and the second is the phantom personal foul on the GT DB that I guess was playing his position too well once again putting VT in scoring range to put the game into OT ending in a GT loss. Refs are there to officiate a holding call here and there and flip a ****'ing coin not to change the outcomes of games.
