Super Bowl XLVIII Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos

Super Bowl XLVIII  Seattle Seahawks (13-3) vs. Denver Broncos (13-3) [February 2nd, FOX, Kickoff 6:30pm] Let us jump right into it! Why wait?! Let's start with the NFC champions, Seattle Seahawks : They ended the year at 13-3 while winning the NFC West. I am going to start by looking at their 3 losses that they had this year. In those losses they ONLY lost by a combined 15pts. I may throw out one loss, it was the the Arizona Cardinals week 16 when they pretty much had everything locked up and the Cards were just looking for any sort of moral victory at this point in the season (Why though? You are ruining your draft stock!) But, lets take a look at the other two. Both where away games. One at the Indianapolis Colts and one at conference rival San Fransisco . I look at one key stat in those losses. They averaged only ONE sack in each loss. Even stud defensive ends like Micheal Bennet or Cliff Avril where held without a sack, and these guys where #1 and #2 respectfully ...

Super Bowl XLVIII Pre-Pre-Preview/2013 Rehash Rant

Not too flashy of a title but, then again it is the Super Bowl and it truly needs no introduction. I am going to start this post by saying I (and oddly enough, many others) called SEA v DEN at the start of the year. I don't know what that means, so I am not going to dwell on it... This is NOT my pre-game type blog, this is more just about the Super Bowl itself, and a reflection on the 2013 season. (Don't worry, I will have a in-depth one out shortly) So, let us start with the basics. This is Super Bowl LVIII which, after Googling it, means Super Bowl 48. Kickoff is set for 6:30pm and it will be on FOX (thank god.) And the NFL thought it was going to be a great idea to host it in East Rutherford, NJ... which according to weather.com... says it is going to be the high of 36 and the low of 24 with a 30% chance of snow WHICH would be great if it was 1940. That is when people went to a game, smoked cigars in the stands, braved the elements and cheered on their team! Now most fans...

NFL Playoffs NO at PHI (Part 2)

I know you just finished reading my first preview and are just dieing to read another one! Or you clicked on this because you meant to click the link below it... New Orleans Saints (11-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (10-6) [8:10pm NBC] I can't believe I am writing this, but, it is good to see the Eagles back in the postseason. (I may have just died a little inside) But, this will be a quite a good match up... or that is what ESPN, CBS, FoxSports1 etc... want you to believe. I see a much different outcome.  The Eagles are happy with their new HC Chip Kelly for getting them into the postseason and to with their division... but that is were it may end. Let us look at the positives first. Nick Foles had a great year (as many expected) in Kelly's offense throwing for more than 2800yds and a nice TD/INT ratio of 27/2. AND of course RB LeSean McCoy and WR DeSean Jackson had monster years both going over 1,000yds rushing and passing respectively. Even Riley Cooper had a great year, ...

NFL Playoffs KC at IND (I'm back!)

Hey! Did you miss me?! That's rhetorical because I know you did. SO. Lets talk NFL playoffs. This year was quite interesting... KC, Cincy, Carolina, and San Diego were all somewhat suprising. But, that's what makes sports great... blah blah blah....  I am going to jump right into it with today's early match up: Kansas City Chiefs (11-5) vs. Indianapolis Colts (11-5)   [4:35pm NBC] (Wow, I forgot how to f%$#'ing format these things...) So, let's look at the basics. Kansas city was a pretty big surprise for many. Not for me. One, when you get enough first round draft picks you tend to build a pretty solid team (a la the 49ers last year.) Also, you have arguably the Co-MVP of the 2013 season, RB Jamaal Charles. Which, would be the run-away favorite (pun intended) if Peyton Manning didn't decide to break every passing record known to mankind this year. Meanwhile, the Colts are pretty much doing what everyone expected. Andrew Luck is coming along as a gre...
