Somehow this is the last week in the NFL regular season. And due to flex scheduling it's an understatement how bad the 1PM games are. Unless you're into a nose diving 2-13 Giants team taking on a royal cluster f*&% of a Redskins team. Pass. So, for those teams that are down and out of the playoffs lets take a look at the (possible) top 5 2018 NFL draft picks. 1. Browns : Sam Darnold, QB, USC- Josh Rosen of UCLA already "Eli Manning'ed" himself out of this death trap. Sorry Sam, we hardly knew ya.  2. Giants : Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA- Time to draft for the future. Manning has 2-3 seasons left and this draft is stocked with future franchise talent.  3. Colts : Conner Williams, OT, Texas- To keep this franchise relevant they need to keep Andrew Luck healthy. Williams would be a solid cornerstone for Luck's blindside.  4. Browns (from Texans ): Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame- Time to start building that offense ground up. McGlinchey is stout 6...

It's Christmas Eve. It's Week 16 in the NFL. Lets rustle some holiday feathers! Kicking off with my top five Christmas movies. (Commentary to come post list) 5. The Ref - 1994 classic with Dennis Leary & Kevin Spacey. Leary is is his awesome, sweary, miserable self with all the waspy holiday family tension you can handle.  4. Die Hard- Well... duh you know this was going to be on here. It's a Christmas movie. Get over it.  3. Santa Claus is Comin' to Town- Fred Astaire leads the way with this holiday classic. Definitely the best holiday animated movie. Who doesn't love Burgermiester Miesterburger and Topper the Penguin? If the answer is you, please de-friend me. 2. Jingle All the Way- The best way to watch this is on VHS. However, if you don't live in 1996 then just find a way to stream it. Who is in it?! Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sinbad, Phil Hartman, Robert Conrad (I loved Black Sheep Squadron,) Martin Mull. BOOM. Out-f*&^ing-standing.  1. Ch...

Week 15 NFL talk & a quick look at the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl

Today I will be talking about Akron verses Florida Atlantic in the super prestigious Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl. THAT'S A REAL BOWL GAME. Imagine you won and 40 years later your grand son says "grandpa tell me about your college football days." And you know have to go, "Well Johnny, we won the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl."  And of course he is going to say something to the effect of "grandpa what the f*&^ is that?" (Because it's 2057 and kid's vocabulary is just going to be bananas unfiltered) And now you have to say "It was a bowl game in Florida that was shutdown in 2018 because Cheribundi ended up being some weird wellness pyramid scheme."  Now you've opened THAT can of worms.   Johnny asks "What's a pyramid scheme?" *takes deep breath/wipes sweat from forehead*   "It's like that thing when... uh... have you ever heard of AdvoCare? It's like... you know how you have that o...

Week 14 AND "We're talkin' about PLAYOFFS?! Are you kidding me? Playoffs?!"

For the record that Jim Mora Sr. clip will never get old. (See blow)  Now that we are into college bowl season and the NFL is on the cusp of the PLAYOFFS, we can briefly talk about the 2018 quarterback class for the NFL Draft. I know some of the juniors still have to declare but, for the sake of this post... let's say they are all going to. First off, Mr. Heisman winner, Baker Mayfield from Oklahoma. I don't think he will be a first or even a second round pick BUT, that is better for him and for the league. Why? Because, that means he could end up on the Chargers or Raiders or the Seahawks and not have to start right away. For someone with so much 'raw athletic ability' I would hate to see him in a Texans or Browns uniform and start week one. Mayfield is a project player with a B+ amount of upside... 2 to 3 seasons down the line. Josh Rosen of UCLA has all the attributes of a solid pocket passer. Watch any game and you will see him fearlessly step up into the rush...
