Campus Heroes [Week 5]

A lot of BIG TIME performances this weekend in the College Football world. This week's list has a few Heisman front-runners on it. And as always if you think someone deserves to be on this list [or on the Zeros list] let me know and I will keep an eye on them in the weeks to come.

CAMPUS HEROES
5. Pittsburgh Panthers RB, Ray Graham: Sure his major game came against Florida International BUT it was still one hex of a performance! Graham rushed for 277yds and 3TD on only 29 carries. Out of those 277yds was a HUGE 79yd touchdown run. It was important for him to have a big game after being stonewalled last week by the Canes. By the way Pittsburgh won 44-17.

4. Northwestern Wildcats QB, Dan Persa: Who? He is the Wildcats' QB that has lead them to a staggering 5-0! This ties them with MSU, Michigan and Ohio State for the #1 spot in the Big Ten! Persa had a great game facing Minnesota leading the team in passing AND rushing going 23 for 30, 309yds, 2TD and 18 carries for 99yds. His big game comes on Oct. 23rd when they host the ranked MSU Spartans.

3. Michigan Wolverines QB, Denard Robinson: Why is his amazing, mind blowing, Heisman-esk game only at #3? Because it was against Indiana... oh boy. This offense is starting to look like the Pat White Days at WVU except Robinson doesn't have a Steve Slayton to help him in the rushing game. Robinson BY HIMSELF had 227 passing yards and 3TD and 217 rushing yards and TWO MORE TD! It will be interesting to see how Robinson and Coach Rodriguez fair against a BSC contender... my guess not as well... at all.

2. Oregon Ducks RB, LaMichael James: If you tuned in early in this game it looked like Stanford was going to march all over the Ducks. At the end of the 1st quarter the Cardinals were up 21-3! But, thanks to the insane running skills of LaMichael James with 31 carries for 257yds and 3TD, the Ducks fought back and won this HUGE PAC-10 game 52-31. That Duck has to be in some serious shape! Oregon has racked up 283pts!

1. Washington Huskies QB, Jake Locker: This is the Jake Locker that Mel Kiper and company have been raving about since the end of last season! Yet again the Huskies have the Trojans' number knocking them off 32-31 AT USC! Locker was clutch throwing for 310yds and 1TD; he also rushed 12 times for 110yds. Washington is 2-2... one win in amazing fashion over USC the other... against Syracuse...
