The Godfather of Sports Mock Draft 1.0
This is going to be more straight forward than most of my posts where I ramble how the need for a good backup offensive guard is underrated etc...
1. Titans (3-13) Laremy Tunsil, offensive tackle, Ole Miss
Tunsil is safe and they can't afford to have Mariota get hurt.
2. Browns (3-13) Carson Wentz, quarterback, North Dakota State
Sorry Wentz. Enjoy being a free agent in two years!
3. Chargers (4-12) DeForest Buckner, defensive end, Oregon
Buckner can immediately make an impact on this defensive.
4. Cowboys (4-12) Jalen Ramsey, safety, Florida State University
He fits well in this organization, very Roy Williams esque.
5. Jaguars (5-11) Joey Bosa, defensive end, Ohio State University
If he falls this far he is a steal and is NFL ready.
6. Ravens (5-11) Ronnie Stanley, offensive tackle, Notre Dame
They lost Kelechi Osemele in FA and need to keep Flacco upright.
7. 49ers (5-11) Jared Goff, quarterback, California
Chip Kelly is going to gut and rebuild the entire franchise.
8. Eagles (7-9) Myles Jack, outside linebacker, UCLA
This is a value pick if Jack is here. They may go corner as well.
9. Buccaneers (6-10) Vernon Hardgreaves, cornerback, Florida
That secondary was god awful last year and very DB counts.
10. Giants (6-10) Ezekiel Elliot, running back, Ohio State
Might as well take the only franchise worthy back in the draft.
11. Bears (6-10) A'Shawn Robinson, defensive tackle, Alabama
He can help the Bears' pass rush as well as clog up gaps.
12. Saints (7-9) Laquon Tredwell, wide receiver, Ole Miss
Drew Brees and Tredwell could make for a great QB/WR duo.
13. Dolphins (6-10) Jack Conklin, offensive tackle, MSU
They need a corner bad but Conklin is too good to pass up.
14. Raiders (7-9) Jeremy Cash, safety, Duke
Surprised? Reach? Maybe, but Cash is a ball hawk.
15. Rams (7-9) Shaq Lawson, defensive end, Clemson
This Rams are kind of a mystery, maybe QB next time around?
16. Lions (7-9) Reggie Ragland, linebacker, Alabama
He will bring vitality to a somewhat lack luster Detroit defense.
17. Falcons (8-8) Eli Apple, cornerback, Ohio State
Apple can play a nickel/slot DB right away.
18. Colts (8-8) Leonard Floyd, linebacker, Georgia
A possible defensive rookie of the year.
19. Bills (8-8) Kevin Dodd, defensive end, Clemson
He can stand up at linebacker or rush from a three point.
20. Jets (10-6) Connor Cook, quarterback, Michigan State
Even if they get a deal done with Fitzpatrick.
21. Redskins (9-7) Ryan Kelly, center, Alabama
He can play guard or center and can help that Skins' interior.
22. Texans (9-7) Hunter Henry, tight end, Alabama
The best tight end in the draft. He can block and catch well.
23. Vikings (11-5) Josh Doctson, wide receiver, TCU
Minnesota needs to replace Percy Harvin and Mike Wallace ASAP.
24. Bengals (12-4) Vonn Bell, safety, Ohio State University
Bell will replace what the Bengals lose without Reggie Nelson.
25. Steelers (10-6) Mackensie Alexander, cornerback, Clemson
Any help Pittsburgh can get in the secondary is welcome.
26. Seahawks (10-6) Cody Whitehair, guard, Kansas State
A younger (and maybe better) replacement for J.R. Sweezy.
27. Packers (10-6) Jaylon Smith, linebacker, Notre Dame
He will be starting at outside linebacker week one. Money down.
28. Chiefs (11-5) Kentrell Brothers, linebacker, Missour
Noah Spence makes sense here but has character issues.
29. Cardinals (13-3)Noah Spence, defensive end, Eastern Kentucky So, Arizona will roll the dice instead!
30. Panthers (15-1) Derrick Henry, running back, Alabama
At years end he will have more carries than Tolbert and Stewart.
31. Broncos (12-4) Paxton Lynch, quarterback, Memphis
Mark Sanchez isn't the future. Lynch is a John Elway kind of guy.
