NFL Power Rankings (Week 8)

Not too much of a shake up in the league's top teams. Though I must say the AFC is a bit of a punchline this year. And the once favored Ravens are starting to look a bit.. old and depleted on their once vaunted defense. But, during Monday Night Football it was nice to see the Denver Broncos' Jay Cutler on the field instead of his normal Craig Krenzel impression. And on the downside all your favorite bottom 5 teams are right where you left them last week.

1. Falcons (6-0): They did not play but they still have that all important 0 in their loss column.

2. Bears (5-1):Nice to see Jay Cutler play up to his Madden ranking finally!

3. Texans (6-1): They put a hurting on the Ravens on both sides od the ball. Truly the best AFC team by far.

4. Giants (5-2): Eli has been playing great with his Chunky Campbell Soup connection; Cruz hauled in 131yds/1TD last weekend.

5. 49ers (5-2): 1st in pass defense and 2nd in total rushing yards. I think that is enough said?

6. Ravens (5-2): They were thoroughly beaten and need to be able to lean on that offense instead of their swiss-cheese defense.

7. Vikings (5-2): In a league of good kickers the Vikings have one of the best in rookie Blair Walsh (16-17 FG, 94.7%)

8. Packers (4-3): With an injury plaguing Greg Jennings all year Jordy Nelson has emerged as a great go-to target for Rodgers.

9. Patriots (4-3): Where did they come from? They are incontrol of a sub-par division and are keeping a firm grasp on it.

10. Seahawks (4-3): The 49ers exposed their Russel Wilson driven offense with great discipline and assignment defense.

Bottom 5

5. Raiders (2-4): Well in a game between the Jaguars and the Raiders SOMEONE had to win right? Nothing quite like being the best of the worst....

4. Panthers (1-5): Johnathan Stewart, Mike Tolbert and DeAngelo Willams: 48 rush years for 2.8yds a carry in their loss to DAL. There isn't a joke big or funny enough to make fun of the millions the Panthers' spent on this backfield.

5. Chiefs (1-5): They haven't been given a chance to lose or prove me and the universe wrong and win. So, who do you think they are going to take with the 1st overall pick?
