Campus Zeros (Week 5)

If I could put Tony Romo in here after his MNF outing I would but there isn't enough space in this week's list. I am going to keep Arkansas out of the firing line this week because I have officially run out of bad things to say about this train wreak of a program, but I do have to mention that they DID in fact lose again this week. BUT if you are a fan of ACC schools with the word "Tech" at the end of their names... this weeks blog is not for you...

5. Le'Veon Bell, MSU, RB, JR: 12car, 45yds, 0TD. Relax Sparty I know Bell also had 8rec for 58yds but he is supposed to be my Heisman dark horse as a POWER BACK... and I have to put this horse out of its misery, though I think Notre Dame and Ohio State already did that for me. Bell and conference running mate Monte Ball where primed for 'amazing' seasons this year and they have done nothing but disappoint. Last time I ever pick any player from the Big 10. By they way MSU is now 3-2 dropped out of every single Top 25 poll. Oh yeah, MSU lost 17-16 to Ohio State, sorry I forgot to mention that, I blacked out in rage that Bell made me look like a F#$%'ing idiot his year.

4. Tyler Bray, Tennessee, QB, JR: 24/45, 281yds, 2TD, 3INT. Bray completed just over half his passes and was throwing the ball like he had his eyes closed. Missing on key 3rd downs or even just on easy 5yd quick outs. His three huge INTs were the reason they could not pull this upset. Their defense did a lot to keep UGA out of the end zone but multiple turnovers put a hex of a lot of stress on your defense ESPECIALLY on the road against a ranked opponent. No real zingers or funny puns here. He just lost control of his offense and made horrible choices, period.

3. Virgina Tech Hokies Football. I am used to the Hokies running the table, winning out the ACC and finishing with maybe one loss on their record. This year that will not be the case at all. I won't get too detailed but here is their resume for this year. Their winds were over juggernaut schools like Austin Peay, Bowling Green, and ACC foe GT (who maybe down further in the list.) Their losses are both from middle tier Big East Teams a 35-17 beat down by Pittsburgh and this weekend a 27-24 loss to Cincinnati. The VT special teams are even in disarray! This is supposed to be Beamer-Ball Territory. They can really could use Marcus Vick at QB now, let me start calling half-way houses in the Virginia area to see if I can hook you guys up.

2. Georgia Tech Football. The same thing can be said for GT that was said for VT. This is supposed to he a solid defensive team that controls the clock and the tempo with their option offense. I have yet to see even a glimpse of that this year. And this week's loss may have been the icing on the cake... the Yellow Jackets lost 49-28 to Middle-Tennessee... I could stop there but they let up 510yds to the Blue Raiders (what a horrible generic mascot by the way.) I can hear GT fans saying: "But, Tevin Washington had 4TDS!" Yeah, he did. He also threw a INT and averaged a mind numbing .2 yards per carry... MVP stuff right there.

1. Josh Nunes, Stanford, QB, JR: 18/37, 170yds, 0TD, 1INT. Syracuse fans cringe at the sound of "Nunes under center" but no worries this guy's first name is not Troy... though I think Troy Nunes may have had at least thrown a TD in this one. At least when Andrew Luck loses he goes drives home in his sports car to his mansion. Nunes on the other hand probably walked back to the Cardinal's old and dirty "football" house where he received a text from the girl friend stating "We r done, sry :/" after that prime time meltdown. Yes, it was on the road, I will give you that... and that is all. 48% on his completions and he could not generate offensive even with a All-Power-America Generator WHICH according to Google is the top rated generator you can buy. Why on earth would I throw this in? Because at least you can take something positive away from this thrashing. All-power-america-apg3014
